Editor's take
A pocketable 1-inch-sensor compact built around a 15x optical zoom lens covering 24-360mm, aimed at travelers who want DSLR-adjacent reach without carrying a separate lens.
The TX3 packs a 20.1MP 1-inch BSI sensor and a VARIO-ELMAR 24-360mm lens into a genuinely pocket-sized body, which is the whole appeal: reach that normally needs a lens swap, without one. 4K video and 4K Photo (pulling stills from video bursts) add flexibility for fast-moving subjects.
It won't match a mirrorless system for low light or background separation, but as a single travel camera that covers wide landscapes through distant wildlife, it's hard to beat for pocketability.
Pros
- 15x optical zoom (24-360mm) in a pocketable body
- 1-inch sensor is large for a compact camera
- USB-C charging, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0
Cons
- No viewfinder mentioned in this listing
- Fixed lens, no system to grow into
- Too new on Amazon to have review history yet
Ideal for: Travelers who want one pocketable camera that covers wide-angle to long telephoto.
