About CamTech Compare
CamTech Compare is an independent comparison site for cameras, lenses, drones, action cameras and the everyday tech that photographers and video creators rely on, including smartphones, laptops, headphones and smartwatches.
Who we are
CamTech Compare is run by the team behind EAA Video Productions, an aerial photography and video business. We fly drones, shoot and edit video, and buy gear for real paid work, so we know how confusing spec sheets can be and how expensive the wrong purchase is. We built this site to make those decisions easier for everyone, from first-time buyers to working creators.
Why we built it
Most product pages bury the numbers that matter under marketing language, and every manufacturer measures things a little differently. We wanted one place where a camera, drone or pair of headphones could be compared with its rivals on the same terms, with the trade-offs explained in plain English.
How we work
- Normalized specs: we convert every specification into consistent fields and units so comparisons are fair.
- Editorial scores, clearly labeled: our 0-10 scores are our own judgment calculated from the specs. They are never presented as manufacturer claims. Read more on how we score products.
- No paid placements: brands cannot pay to be featured or to change a score.
- Plain-English guides: our buying guides explain what matters for each type of product and who each option suits.
- Regular updates: prices and availability change frequently, so we record the date each price was checked and refresh listings over time.
How we make money
CamTech Compare participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you buy through some of our links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects which products we include or how they score. See our full affiliate disclosure.
