Editor's take
Nikon's flagship-derived full-frame hybrid, with a partially-stacked 24.5MP sensor, 299-point AI autofocus, and internal 6K RAW video, bundled with the 24-120mm f/4 lens.
The Z6III's partially-stacked sensor is the headline: it closes most of the rolling-shutter gap with fully-stacked flagship bodies at a fraction of the price, while still hitting 20fps RAW and up to 120fps in DX crop. AI subject recognition extends to vehicles and aircraft, not just people and animals.
On video it goes well beyond typical hybrid territory with internal 6K N-RAW and ProRes RAW HQ, making it as much a filmmaking tool as a stills camera.
Pros
- Partially-stacked sensor with fast readout, minimal rolling shutter
- 299-point AI autofocus tracks people, animals, vehicles and aircraft
- Internal 6K RAW video (N-RAW and ProRes RAW HQ)
Cons
- Premium price for a 24MP body
- Bundle's included bag/card are basic accessories
- Heavier than APS-C alternatives
Ideal for: Hybrid shooters and filmmakers who need flagship-level speed and RAW video without the flagship price.
Reviews
Still a very new listing with minimal reviews so far, but the single rating is a perfect score.
