Editor's take
Sony's budget on-ear pick with a class-leading 50-hour battery life and quick USB-C charging, at $34.34 (down from $69.99) with 35,328 reviews at 4.4 stars.
The Sony WH-CH520 is an entry-level wireless on-ear headphone built around one standout spec: battery life. Amazon lists up to 50 hours on a charge with quick charging over USB-C, longer than most other headphones in this comparison. It's lightweight, with swivel earcups and an adjustable, cushioned headband for all-day wear, and supports multipoint connection to switch between two paired devices.
Amazon's own spec table explicitly lists 'Noise Control: None' for this listing, confirming it has no active noise cancellation — this is a passive on-ear design, not a competitor to ANC models like the Sony WH-1000XM6 or Bose QuietComfort. We also noticed an inconsistency in Amazon's structured spec table: a field labeled 'Frequency Response' shows '2.4 GHz', which is clearly a copy-paste error referencing the wireless radio band rather than an audio frequency response; a separate 'Frequency Range' field lists '20 Hz - 20,000 Hz', which is the figure we used since it's the one that actually describes audio response.
With 35,328 reviews at 4.4 stars and a price of $34.34 (down from a $69.99 list), it's one of the best-value, longest-battery-life picks in this entire headphones comparison for anyone who doesn't need noise cancellation.
Pros
- Up to 50 hours of battery life with quick USB-C charging — among the longest in this comparison
- Very lightweight and comfortable for extended wear
- 35,328 reviews at 4.4 stars, a large and credible review base
- Multipoint connection to switch between two devices
Cons
- No active noise cancellation — Amazon's own spec table lists 'Noise Control: None'
- Amazon's spec table includes a mislabeled 'Frequency Response: 2.4 GHz' field that is clearly a copy-paste error (that's the wireless band, not an audio spec); we used the separate, correct 'Frequency Range: 20 Hz - 20,000 Hz' field instead
- Explicitly 'Not Water Resistant', no IPX rating
- Foldability not confirmed in this listing's spec table
Ideal for: Buyers who want exceptionally long battery life and light comfort at a low price, without needing noise cancellation.
