Editor's take
Apple's fanless ultraportable, now on the M3 chip, delivering close to a full workday of battery life in a 1.24kg aluminum shell.
The M3 Air remains the easiest general-purpose laptop recommendation on this list: it's silent (no fan at all), light enough to carry all day, and the battery genuinely lasts through a full workday of mixed use rather than just idle standby.
The limits show up under sustained heavy loads — long video exports or big compiles will run warm and eventually throttle slightly since there's no active cooling — and the base 8GB configuration is worth upgrading if the budget allows.
Pros
- Fanless and silent under normal use
- All-day battery life
- Excellent build quality
Cons
- Only two Thunderbolt ports
- Base 8GB RAM config feels tight for heavy multitasking
Ideal for: Students and professionals who want a light, silent, all-day laptop for everyday work.
Reviews
Reviewers call it the best all-around laptop for non-demanding workloads; the two-port limit is the main complaint.
